Scent of a Rose

I was inspired by the beautiful day that I spent in New Jersey today. Me and my yorkipoo sat outside just enjoying the warm air and sun..it was so peaceful. I got to really enjoy my farm and animals instead of watching from the window. I think sometimes we forget to just sit back, relax and appreciate the simple beauty around us. We are so busy with our computers and businesses that we forget how wonderful mother nature can be. I was so inspired by the outdoors today that when I came in I worked on this necklace as it just went with the theme of my day.

Any Cereal Lovers Out There???

Okay, so yesterday while i was enjoying my low fat, boring healthy cereal, I was remembering being a kid and begging my mom for the sweetest cereals on the market.
She was pretty easy to break down and I usually got my Captain Crunch, Fruit Loops, Count Dracula..hahahha remember those? You know its amazing that if you were like me back then we survived!, but we did. Sometimes I wonder if our kids aren't missing out...pushed to give them nutritious cereals and low fat foods all year around...Gosh, they can't even bring sweets for their birthdays to school anymore :( Realizing that we have children that aren't getting enough exercise as we did due to computers, video games etc, I can see why they are pushing the "healthy" choices, but I still think some of my best memories were sitting at the table with my Frosty Flakes and maybe even having a cupcake when I got home from school. I made a "new" Klayfriend yesterday, Fruity Cereal Piggy to remind us of the days we use to eat sweet, fun cereal and sometimes eat as this piggy is one at a time and leave the soggy cereal & milk in the bowl...hehehehe

~~~I love a good rainbow after a storm~~

Well, my kids go back to school tomorrow..their week off seems to have flown by.
My house is always crazy, but fun! My son had two friends over and my daughter also had kids coming and going over the past week. its going to be awfully quiet here tomorrow without them. We all were talking over breakfast this morn and my daughter was going on about how scared she is of stormy weather, tornados, etc.etc... I was explainig that after every storm a rainbow follows and when shes away at college in the fall and scared just think of the rainbow after the storm and she can get through anything! When I finally got a chance to relax today I contemplated what kind of bracelet I would make and it was then the discussion of the morning came back to me and so became my newest bracelet...Colors Of The Rainbow, etsy link is

Down On the Farm Pics

Good Morning, as I mentioned in one of my blogs I wanted to share with you pictures of my 2nd favorite hobby, My Farm. The first picture is of my newest handmade piggy, Spring Day piggy. You can visit Piggy at my etsy store: klayfriends.etsy.com under Clay items in my store :)

I have two goats Zoe & Rosebud..both purchased at local Jersey farms. Zoe is an older goat that I purchased as she was no longer good for breeding and Rosebud was purchased by me because the owners "show" their goats and her formation was not "perfect". I have two white Pekin ducks. The smallest one was found on a main highway and the bigger I adoped from a local farm. They love their pool :) I also have pics of my chickens that lay eggs everyday. The farm would not be complete without a picture of my miniature horses. I have two of them but could only get one of Jumpin' Jim with his whole head in his feed bucket..silly guy.

My farm is small, only a few acres, but it brings lot of enjoyment to me, my family and friends. Unfortunately, my husband may want to sell in the next few years once my son has finished high school and downsize and at that point I would have to consider suitable homes for my friends, but for now I enjoy each day with them!

Spring has Sprung

I am thinking its time to go out and get supplies to get my garden going..I am also debating whether or not to get more baby chicks this year. The problem is they sell them straight run which means they could be male or female..I don't want roosters so I always pray for females.. Keep a watch in the near future for pictures of my farm. Its been so rainy or windy here lately that I haven't been able to get good pics of my clan, but I will soon promise :) I have mini horses, rabbits, goats, chickens and of course my puppy sofie whose pictures are listed below a few blogs.
